For lack of something better to waste my time and money on this weekend, I am considering installing a set of clear side markers (courtesey of Nopi) on the front fenders of my 300E. However, the prospect of drilling two potentially large holes in my front fenders isn't entirely appealing to me. Has anyone out there attempted this on their own that would like to share there experinces/thoughts with me?
Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan, change the oil instead. Why would you want to do this?? Get some clear corners if you must, but drilling holes in the fenders!!???

I installed clear corners on my 300E with no problem at all, they just snap in. Make sure that they are in the right slots though, you don't want to break the pronges on the lens.
You mentioned drilling? Are you sure you're talking about corners and not side markers?
My fault you did say side markers. I thought about this also but stopped for fear of looking like an idiot if they didn't come out right or looked ugly. :D

Actually its really not that difficult to cut the fender. What I recommend is to test fit them on a piece a cardboard to make sure you have the correct size.

Once you are comfortable with your "template" remove the fender liner and check the area behind where you plan to mount your sidemarker to make sure youre not gonna hit anything back there.

Once that step is good mask off the area you plan on cutting and let it rip!

After you got your hole and are satified with the fit paint the raw edge with anti rust type paint so that in time your fenders wont rust out.

Run the wires and put everything back. Its really not a dangerous mod. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate this a 2.

Trying for that all "euro" look huh :D
