1996 E320 mis-firing???

1996 E320...Help me please??? I have aE320 that just started mis-firing??? when I first start it up, it runs fine till it reaches about 60 degrees then it starts mis-firing, I am getting no check engine light now, and no codes.... any info would be helpful, thanx John |
Probably a coil or plug end.

Would this be an ignition coil...if it is were can I find them? I understand there are 3, I used to own a 500 sel, but this e320 is a whole different mechine... Sincerely John fiden |
Scarab7, This could be the Transmission overload prorection switch S65. Norm in FL

The coils are on top of the spark plugs, under the cover down the center of the head. There are three connectors one for each coil that go from the coil to the spark plug. These are cheap and fail regularly.
We often replace all three when replacing plugs as determining which is failing can be a problem and problems can be intermittant. You should eventually get a misfire code that will point out the bad cylinder, but without a good scanner it will be hard to pick it out untill the code sets. |
