Unhappy no voice comand & no cd changer

Hi, this is my first post, thank you in advance for any help you may offer.
I purchase a 2000 e320 wagon 4matic from a friend. It is in great shape and brought it to a MB service center for a ec light which wouldn't go out. when I picked up the car the phone voice comand & cd changer didn't work. They said they didn't do anything to it and since the Nav system is a ero mb model they can't read two codes that come up ( the phone & cd was installed by MB but the nav was not, all worked fine till they worked on the car, I think they cancel out the codes for the ec and the comand at the same time, now I am stuck the radio works , the single cd works, the nav works it is just the voice & cd changer that doesn't. Anybody have any thoughts? help

I had a similar problem with my 2000 E430 4matic. The CD player and the phone voice command did not work....as I recall the MB tech replaced the voice recognition module and solved both problems......fortunately the car was still under warranty....good luck

Working on/clearing codes in the climate control wouldn't have an effect on the COMAND unit, they'd need to enter into the radio/COMAND unit to change codes in the unit.

Are you sure the COMAND was added later, it was available on this model in the US. The SDS unit should be able to read codes and change the configuration if it's an MB unit, even a European version.

I'd tend to agree it's probably a bad VRU or CD changer, or possibly the phone PSE. Has anyone been taking anything apart in the rear 1/4 panel? The phone itself works (in the cradle, hands-free feature) just not the changer or the voice recognition?
