Flasher Unit Locaiton 89 300SE?

Yes, I have searched and talked to most parts houses and continue to get different opinions and directions. This forum did have lots of posts for earlier W126 models but could someone suggest where this relay is for an 89 w126?

Problem: Turn signals and hazards fail to flash...sometimes.
Yes, I switched on and off (with force) the Hazard switch. Banged on it, jiggled it, etc. no difference.
Wipers seem to work fine.

Yes, I checked and replaced fuse, just in case I couldn't see the break.

Is the B Relay in the Fuse box related?

Once I figure out where the flasher/relay is I will check all connections there and with Hazard Switch.

Thanks in advance.

tpynes,
The relay in the "B" position in the F1 fuse center is the correct turn, hazard, wiper, relay. Usually the problem is the switch but if you have beat the hell out of it try beating the relay. Of course following the wiring manual with concise and tedious testing is a lot more fun. Good Luck

Well it looks like if I move the relay in the fuse box it actually makes the flasher work for a few minutes before it slows down. So I am going to buy a relay and probably check the hazard switch too.

Thanks all,

Tony

As a follow up for future searches where someone might be looking for this part.

For the 89 300SE W126, the Combination Relay (which handles the hazard and turn signal flashers along with a lot of other things) is the large B Relay in the fuse box and can be had at Fastlane.

Fastlane part number P2020-32725 and cost is $70.37
MB Part number 201 821 0047

I think the first task should always be to check out the Hazard Switch for connection or failure but it seems in my case with the erratic working of the signals where sometimes they work sometimes they don't it has turned out to be the relay.

When I get the part I will know for sure and report back here.

Thanks again

Relay arrived the day after I ordered it which was fast considering I took the free shipping (UPS Ground).

Replaced the relay beore going out for the evening and was planning on taking a look at the Hazard the next day but the new relay fixed my problem.

Case Closed.

Next job... install the rotors and pads that came with the relay order

....you have to love working on cars to own one of these.
