Do i need to change the differential??
I bought my car before 2 years and now somebody talled me that the engine of my car was changed from 3.0 6cyl into 2.3 4cyl,also the gear was changed, but the diffeential with axles are not changed. My question is that all mercedes w124 differentials are the same??Or they Differ??My car moves sticky from stop and it consumes 2 much fuel.I feel that the tyres diffically turns when the car was in stop.So anybody have any information according to Mercedes Differentials???If i change the diffeential,am i need to change the axles???

What is the model designation of your car? It'll be numbers begining with 124023 or 124030 on a plate ahead of the radiator.
If your speedometer and odometer read correctly then you probably have the right differential. Or at least a matched speedometer and differential. You can try a another differential ratio but you'll either get better acceleration and worse fuel mileage or better fuel mileage and worse acceleration. Seems to me that when someone isn't satisfied with acceleration and fuel mileage either the engine needs service or that person bought the wrong car. Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

Not sure what "moves sticky" means but I imagine that the 230 designation in your model number represents that 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine.
Get the number that is stamped on the back side of the differential and tell us what it is and we may be able to help. This number indicates the ratio of the differential. You can search under differential using the search button above and read all about it too. Ya'll got any smoke over there? Sounds like someone is blowing it to me.
