This inquiry may be for BENZMAC perhaps, or Larry Bible who has the same model.

I had the radiator and hoses changed about two years ago. No leaks or drips right now but I noticed that I have to add coolant from time to time. Not much, maybe 6 ounces once every six or eight weeks. Just had the radiator coolant changed last week. Car runs just fine, it is well maintained, well treated and has about 172K. No oil problems. Ah, new a/c compressor and conversion.
Thanks for the help. juan

This could be as simple as the cap. They are pressure rated and do wear. I would replace it first.

There are a ton of hoses and connectors in the 300e cooling system, including loop for heating washer fluid. Keep an eye on all of the underhood connections and be looking for staining from slow coolant leaks. As Donnie stated, could be the cap. Inexpensive to replace. Do this and then keep an eye on the overflow tube.

Thank you both for the prompt replies. I had the cap changed for a new MB cap, so I guess I'll have to watch for a leak. I don't mind getting fixed; the problem is finding a good repair shop in the area. But that's life in the city. Thanks again.

Juan,

It wouldn't hurt to put a screwdriver to all the hose clamps to ensure their tightness. This is simple and quick.

The cap and a good check of the hoses and clamps would be good preventive maintenance that will very well fix your problem.

One other thought, if you're trying to keep the rediator absolutely topped off, you will lose some to expansion when the engine warms up, especially this time of year. Just a thought.

Good luck,
