86 560SEL sunroof not straight
The 1986 560SEL, with 188K I am considering does not have the sunroof closed tightly. It is down a little on the driver side. Any idea of what the problem could be before / if I buy it? Thanks!!

sunroof not straight
My 1994 C180 Euro also has this odd driver side a bit down moonroof(glass) and also the rear edge a bit down from the roof edge. Why I don't know, maybe it needs just an adjustment to the internals, rails or hinges. I don't think the car was rolled over and the roof is not level. Can someone out there suggest a reason and fix for this as I am afraid that water will leak when there is a heavy downpour, thanks. Anyone?

Worst case is a broken lift angle from never lubricating it. More likely it just needs to be adjusted for wear.
If it works hard and looks crooked moving back and forth, its the lift angle, expect $500 or more to fix (less if you do it yourself). The sunroofs don't actually seal, there is a drip rail and drain system, so water won't get in even if the roof panel sits funny. Front edge should be slightly lower than roof, rear edge slightly higher (about 1 mm) to eliminate wind noise. Peter
