Checking Maintenance History
I've seen mentioned a few times...checking maintenance history for a particular VIN.
Is this database available only to dealers? Is this something they do willingly? Is there usually a charge? Thanks. |

I think maintenance done at dealerships are only available at dealerships. It may be possible that some independants have access... but I'm not sure.
Regardless, you should be able to go to a service dept and get any history freely from them.

I've heard that some dealerships...
will only give you the records if you prove you are the original owner.
It's worth a try tho!

What you are talking about are VMI reports.
It is any recall and service information per VIN number performed at any authorized dealership. I don't believe it is available outside the MBZ network. Some dealerships are quite helpful and will be glad to give a demonstrated owner a copy, others will not. I believe this amounts to quality of relationship. Haasman
