I just used some diesel purge on a friends 300SD and it worked great. Also changed fuel filters after using the DP. (I probably should have changed filters before running the DP).The car needed new filters so it was a perfect time to perform filter change.

I have (2) questions in regard to using DP. 1)If fuel filter maintenance is due should you change fuel filters before or after running DP thru system? (2) Is it really necessary to change fuel filters when using DP if filters only have 5-7K miles on them and fuel in pre-filter looks fairly clean? I plan on using DP on my 300SDL this week-end and was not sure if I should change the filters with the low miles on them.

I use a flashlight to look through the pre-filter. If you see clear, clean fuel, you are fine. If not, change both.

Any additional input on changing filters pre-DP or post-DP? I assume it would be best before you use DP, but I thought I would get more comments to make sure I am using the best approach.
