Idle problem 82 380SL
 

my mb 380SL wants to idle at 1100 or so rpm, I have replaced control motor, idle valve, and checked computer under passenger floor board.

Some times it will idle at 600 as it should, but it will not stay there: occasionally there is a strange semi-electrical smell from the engine - but nothing ever burns.

What do you mean by "control motor?"

The "computer" in the floor is the lambda controller. What did you do to check that?

If you send me an email, I will send the test procedure from the CD to you.

I would check the throttle switch first.
