tried to remove power seat buttons on the door

w124 1988 pulled on the drivers seat buttons on the door to get to bulb.is there a clip on the black seat buttons or just pull on them?
thanks rich

Just pull them. It's a relief to find someone who has difficulty extracting the buttons. Everyone else says they just slide off. The ones on my SD (sold) practically required a crow bar.

If you pull on them, be sure to pull them STRAIGHT off, otherwise you risk breaking something. You can also pry carefully with a small screwdriver.

well , i got them off. almost had to use a prybar. sure felt like they broke. had to put one back on just to make sure it was't broken.
well it was fun, but did not find any bulbs.
just practice i guess

The only bulbs will be for the memory buttons. You have to remove the switch to get there.

to get to the bulbs, do i have to pry the unit apart after it is removed. was tempted to pry it apart, but did not look right.
do i pry off the memory white plastic things?
thanks rich

I can't recall. You have the switch out?

speedy300Dturbo 02-21-2004 05:17 AM

Wait, don't bother taking the seat switch apart to look for bulbs IF you have a pre-1990 W124. Only 1990-1995 W124's had lighted memory buttons. :)

thanks speedyturbo, thougt it looked kind of wrong.
saved me a lot of time
