I did replace the "grass" in the back rest, not to mention the cloth pieces that were torn, ( what a PITA ). The seat itself was o.k. From what I remember you should be able to pull the seat fabric from the frame with a little work. The end of the fabric has a cardboard/plastic backer sown onto it and is simply inserted into the frame. Simply compress the seat to loosen the fabric and remove it from the frame. If it does not come out easily then you need to carefully loosen it where it is wedged in the seat. Make sure not to rip it. As for the cost of the springs????????
