after my scheduled lube service at the benz service center, i noticed that my 190e2.6 had more gear whine than usual. Not intrusive but noticeable nonetheless.
This is a 5spd manual, and i can correlate the gear whine pitch to vehicle speed - whether in gear or in neutral. the scheduled service i had at Benz was just a regular lube service (i.e. no additional checks/services as per service handbook). Aside from engine lube, does this also cover lube service for the transmission and rear axle? My transmission and rear axles do not have oil leaks and i was just wondering what could have caused the extra gear whine, which is too much of a coincidence after getting it back from the shop. |

Is it possible that it is a wheel bearing noise?
They just did a lube service? That would just be an oil change with a thorough look over. ------------------ Benzmac: Donnie Drummonds 1991 GMC Syclone ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |
