Good news bad news on my vaccum modulator. PLEASE ADVISE THIS ROOKIE

Good news bad news on my vaccum modulator.
First I couldnt see it
Then I pulled the hose off by accident and went in to panic mode.
Then I got the hose back on in the dark with short fingers (Miracle)

Good news is I adjusted my vaccum modulator 2 clicks counter clockwise and its a huge improvement. Almost like a new car. Nobody would notice a problem

Bad news that I need advice on.
1) The cap on the modulator disappeared when I took it off. Do I need to buy a replacement? Where do they sell them? How urgent is it?

2)The t adjustment fell out. The car drives fine with it out but if I get a new cap I will put it back in.

3) In order to get to the modulator I had to disconnect some electronic wire harness clipp. The clip is fine but it had a rubber gasket that broke apart. Do I need to replace the rubber gasket? How important is it?

Thanks in advance you guys are great!

I posted this on an existing thread but receieved no replies so I figured I better try a fresh thread.

You will want to replace the parts. Call Phil at Fastlane and tell him what all you need. I'm sure he can find them. They are pretty inexpensive parts and should be replaced.

Thanks Jim. I appreciate the reply. I will follow your advice. Will it hurt the car if I drive it like 30 miles a week till I get the parts?

You shouldn't have any trouble. All the "T" does is turn the switch in the modulator and the rubber protector keeps the "T" in and keeps dirt out.

If the cover was rubber, the part number is 126 277 00 81.

If the cap was plastic the part number is 126 987 07 45.

Thanks guys I will try the dealership and see if they dont try to rip me off. It was a red vaccum mod but i dont know if the cap was plastic or rubber. It just disappeared although I did find a broken piece of plastic. Maybe that was part of the cap?

So it's normal for the "T" to come out like that?

The same thing happened to me. If it is normal that would be a relief.
