91 300se (126) head lights

Had to park wife's 300SE outside last couple of nights due to a project in the garage. Temps been in the low 30's. Last night she said the headlights didn't seem to work right, but couldn't describe the exact problem. This morning paying more attention she said everything was fine until she got to work. Shut the light switch off, turned the car off and then noticed the head lights were still on. She wiggled the headlight switch a little, the lights would flash off and on, finally they stayed off.
I'm thinking it's probably a relay problem, looked at the first 7 or 8 pages that turned up searching for Headlights and now am not sure. The responses from the search are mixed, relay or switch. Will check the CD when I get home , but can anyone confirm that there are indeed relays for the headlight system. If the location isn't clear in the CD, can someone point me in the right direction.
