I know! I hope that Kuhmo's word-of-mouth-low-price-incredible-value strategy pays off and they continue on that path.

I bought our KW-11's through a mail-order outfit here in Canada and had them installed by my local shop. The installer was surprised at the tires (not having seen many before) and commented about how easy they were to balance, even studded. Hardly any weight required.

I have just this one season on them, but all (we now have KW-11's on the new Subaru, the 626 (non-studded), the 190E and the C230) all four sets are holding up very well. They all still run true and smooth.

Kuhmo could go two ways:
1. They could keep up the good work of producing tires where you pay a little get a lot and keep costs down through minimal marketing schemes other than dealer networks (Tire Rack sells them now) and word-of-mouth.
2. Take advantage of the growing reputation to raise prices and blend into the "mainstream" tire market.

Let's hope they choose #1!!

two years ago there were some people from Kumho at my schools anual design show...they said that they are full aware of the publics view of them, and that is where they plan to stay.

ie - good product, resonable price.

know we all know people say anything, and this holds about as much water as a open pipe, but im just sharing what they told us at teh show.

Best tires for the price that i know of. I have a Subaru Forester that my son drives and have had a set of snows that have 30k and have never been changed to summer tires. I'm truly amazed that any tread is still left.

Where are these Kumho tires made ? (What country)

They sound North Korean.

Based my my research the last couple hours on the Web, they are the best bang for your buck tire.

Just would like to know what country my money is going to before i commit.

kumho still does not have the overall brand recognition of the unwashed masses that michelin, goodyear and company do.

performance enthusiasts are one of the few sectors where a large percentage of people know of them, mostly coz they cost so much less than bridgstones, and michelins and so on.

kuhmo = good tires at a low price. same for toyo.

BTW there are cases where you can just badmouth a tire. no name brand (VISA?) and other cheap 4 for $100 type tires are to be avoided.
