I just have to post a thank you to Steve your advice on my transmission, The cable adjustment and fluid filter change have my tranny doing about as well as I can expect(for 183K miles). I may jinx it but it is shifting just great 95% of the time. I also have to say that this is the greatest site of all. I check it several times a day. I have come to trust the partsShop too. So heres a huge attaboy to all of the primary people with mercedes shop and the entire community. I will continue to monitor and offer feedback on the areas that I am most knowlegable.Keep up the great site.

I have to second that. Really good job to mercedesshop.com and especially to stevebl. I am a relatively new owner of a 1995 E320 and have already have gotten some very good, solid and accurate advice on this board. It was one of the reasons I went with purchasing this auto (I was looking at a new Jetta TDI).
another subject - I have been watching and reading the reports on the new C series C270 - 5 cyl. turbodiesel. Durn, I wish it was available here. Top speed is limited at around 144 mph. I have a feeling that there is a lot of politics being played (read lobbying from the oil companies) to prevent these autos from being brought to the US.
thanks everybody. We can only wish.

Thank you for giving the pat on the back.

Please remember that all of this will pour over to the shop we are building. If I ever get stumped, I have an unreal resource that very few shops use.

We are getting some small numbers in the techs only section, but I guess at some point, egos get in the way?

OH well

Thanks again

If you are going to be so crass as to be first of the mark with a superior product that simultaneously entertains and educates it's subscribers, you can hardly expect competitors to give you rave reviews or join up. Just keep up what you are doing with the site, carry it over to the shop, and ignore techs who can't see the advantage of an electronic 'self help' network to advance everyones capabilities.

BTW, the internet was originally proposed in 1966 by govt (ARPA) and university scientists solely for the purpose of exchanging data and communicating advice, to the betterment of their craft! Bootleg music, Porn, Spam mailings, and on-line auctions seem to have hidden this fact from many users. Your site is in keeping with the original intent of the designers! Be Proud!
