Question '91 190e 2-3 Gear Change Flare

My car has developed a 2-3 gear flare. When it shifts, there's a delay, then it snaps into gear. Theres no slippage during the actual engagement, but the time in between the shifts is long and the engine revs up as if it were suddenly in neutral.

All other shifts are *perfect* and quick. I've already tried adjusting the vac modulator, but that only made the 1-2 gear change harsher.

The fluid was completely changed out with Mobil 1 ATF about a year ago and looks good. During the change I noticed nothing strange in the pan, in fact, it was clean.

I did a search and couldn't find anything specific about this problem on the 190e. Is this an indication of a failing tansmission or is there a simple valve body mod or somthing I can perform on it to make it better?

Question

Any ideas? I'm worried that if I continue to drive it this way I'll destroy the tansmission.

Does anyone have any experience with this kit?
