Head Gasket Coolant Leak
1991 300e has developed a coolant leak externally between the head and block on the passenger's side rear area. The engine runs fine. If not necessary, I don't want to go through the expense of removing the head. Has anyone used Bar's Leaks for this type of situaton?? Bar's has a product out there for Block, Head and Gaskets. I know this is not that best way to correct this situation, but if it will give me some time......
I loved to hear some opinions on this products... Thanks in advance Talons40 |

Are you sure coolant is leaking externally from the head gasket? Could it be from somewhere else dripping down the side of the head and block?
If so, it would be very, very unusual for this engine. Oil leaking externally from the head gasket is very common, but not coolant itself.

There is a hose and seal on the driver side that can go bad...
it is in the rear of the engine. Look carefully with a flashlight and the air cleaner removed.
That was the problem with mine.
