CA diesel help....
OK, I am ready to tear into the Benz to install new O-rings for the turbo/manifold seal and a new intake/exhaust manifold gasket. I start to poke around and see alot of carbon buildup (exhaust leaks). My car is from CA and has been fitted with the catalyst. I'm not sure if I want to go to the trouble of taking everything off and dropping it off somewhere to get welded. Then pick it up only to put it back on to find more leaks. I don't want to waste my time. Someone on the board suggested "retrofitting" 48 state manifold/turbo setup to my car. Has anyone ever done this? I can make the swap I think. I have had the turbo off before to repair everything so I am not ignorant to the disassembly. I just don't want to open a can of worms. I don't know of any extra sensors, switches and such that a CA car has extra. What should I expect to pay for a setup? (48 state mainfold) I am guessing the only thing that is different is all the crap after the exhaust and before the turbo?
I can take pictures if anyone is interested.
