Benzmac:

Just saw your reponse regarding replacing plug wires. You said, Don't, they're not a wear item and the new ones won't be as good as the original equipment, just change the tips.

Well, how easy is it to change the tips and where can I get them? Are some connectors better than others?

Thanks,

You have to be sure that they have not already been replaced. Some people replaced them with the after-market wire that do not have removable ends. In which case, you will have to replace the set.

If your wires are factory, just scope the engine and find out which tips ar at fault and replace them with factory originals.

They just screw off the end of the wire. On the end of the wire, you will find a brass tip that is threaded. I open the boot and spray some silicone lube before unscrewing.

I've never come across plug wires that have a screw-on tip. Boy, you learn something new every time you log on here. . . .

Are they on both ends of the wire or just the plug end?

Are the tips made by different manufacturers or just one? If more than one mfg, what is the preference?
