Headlamp wiper blades replacement

How do you remove the headlamp wiper blades? It seems that they should simply pop out, but if so the effort required seems significant... And since I want to avoid breaking anything, I'd like to make sure. So can anyone confirm, or indicate the correct procedure?

Thanks much.

Not sure about the W126, but on my 300E the blade arm swings down, revealing a nut that can be unscrewed. Pull the arm off, gently detach the rubber hose, and then you can mess around with the wiper blade.

The original blades have little metal strips that both lock the insert into the wiper arm and give it some stiffness. Pull each one out individually with needlenose pliers, then insert them both together into the new rubber insert (pay attention to orientation and all that, they're notched/curved), and then slide the new piece back into the arm.

It's a little bit of an annoying job, mostly due to the metal bits that make it harder to insert and remove the rubber piece.

Facing the headlight, turn the headlight wiper assembly towards you until it's almost touching the bumper. You will see a slot about 1/4 inch long in the little black plastic holding piece. insert a flat headed screw driver in the slot and gently pry the blade out. It will pop out. Pop in the new blade.

I don't mean to sound "cheap" but when I replaced the blades for the windshield I used the old ones to fashion "new" ones for the headlights. I cut them to the same length, slid them in, and popped them back on the arms. It worked for me and recycled something as well:)

Old thread I know. Problem with the euros is the backbone is about half the width. Anyone have a solution?
