rear passenger floor under water!
My dad just called today from our of town to tell me that the R/R flor was under water. It rained two days ago and we haven't driven it in 3 days. I posted earlier about some water landing in the tray in front of the shifter, no I have this water. What could it be?

Hi David.
Check under the battery tray for rust/rot. Also maybe front windshield seal. If you have a sunroof,that could leak. Under the hood by the hood springs there are drain holes that could be clogged,and water collects in there would run into cabin. Pics of spring drains.

Remove the tray and look at the firewall for
rust/rot. Louis.

How would a rusted battery tray allow water into the cabin? If it was the back windshield seal wouldn't water just leak into the trunk normally?

Wow, this has been beat to death here. There are hundreds of posts regarding this exact problem. A search will yield the info you seek. You'll find that the culprit is usually 1) The hinge pocket drains 2) The Battery Tray 3) Windshield Seals or 4) the Sunroof Drains in that order. It is a time consuming easy fix though.

Hi David.
Very simple. The battery tray is bolted to the firewall. Over time battery acid and water eats away the metal,since there are two holes(for the screws) in the firewall. The firewall then starts to rust. The drain hole is near the battery tray,making the problem worse. After 19+ years,the firewall rust develops into a big hole(mine was about the size of my fist). As the drains fill with water the now rotted firewall becomes a funnel that funnels water into the cabin. Louis.

Since rust isn't much problem in my area, my experience says it is likely to be the rear windshield as mentioned above.
