What is the procedure to put this auto into the diagnostic mode, so that I can read the duty cycle with a Fluke 88 DVM. Thanks in advance.

There is a button near the battery. You have to push it for four seconds to read the codes, if there are none (code 1), then you are in diagnostic mode.
