Tech Service Bulletin for Rough Idle

Hi everyone.

I wonder if you can help. On the MbWorld.org forums there is a posing about all the TSB's for the W203 C-class. One of the TSB's is:

-Engine runs rough after coming to a stop or hesitates accelerating, updated ME control unit. Does not apply to C230 or AMG models.

MBWorld.org URL

My warranty runs out in 2 weeks and the dealer is fobbing me off even though I have this problem.

Can anyone please get hold of this bulletin for me. I need a number and the full description in order to convince MB to find it.

Thanks.

Paul

Rough idle can be caused by misfire, but that should make the check engine lamp come on!

MOST of the time that you "feel" a rough idle but no MIL lamp comes on, you will find that the motor mounts have lost their hydraulic oil FILL. MB has modified the engine mounts 2 times for that car(engine), the modified mounts are 203-241-11-13.

I would make sure that you get those mounts installed on your car!!

ALSO on that engine the air mass sensor can cause "rough" running W/O turning the MIL lamp. That is bulletin AF07.07-P-6700AV.

Hi There,

It's not so much rough idle as the car occasionally feels like it will stall, especially after having gone down hill and coming to a stop at lights. also, occationally the car loses acceleration (i.e. the pedal does nothing). This is only when the car has coasted to a standstill and you are going around a sharp right hand turn.

I have had the air mass sensor replaced as well as the accelerator pedal actuator.

It is not very often it happens but it does seem to match the description of the TSB I originally posted about. do you not think it could be this then?

thanks.

The computer re-flashing for performanace problem is for 2002-03 engines not for 2001. P-B-07.00/28e

The ONLY running problem bulletin for 2001 car is for the air mass sensor P-B-07.60/22
