Clutch Pedal on the floor!
Yesterday at busy roundabout (naturaly!) my clutch pedal went to the floor, I pulled it back with the help of the return spring and its not happened since but I'm concerned it'll happen again. The slave cylinder was replaced last week so did the mechanic not bleed the system correctly? Or is something else likely?

Take it back and get it filled and bled. There may be another problem in your system causing fluid loss if that doesn't do it.

I cant see any fluid loss...the resovoir is at the same level.

Although it's more likely to be hydraulic, this could also be mechanical. I have seen a pressure plate finger break. It will jam up the clutch and keep it relased, then fall out of the way for awhile and let it work pretty well.
If the clutch pedal feels normal with the engine stopped, you probably need to pull the transmission and investigate. I know this is not what you want to hear. I hope you're not one to shoot the messenger. Hope this helps, |
