Will The "Engine Restorer" Oil Additive Stop Oil Seal Leaks?

I have read elsewhere that some people have had success with this product. I have a 350SDL (diesel) that has crankshaft seal and injection pump (motor oil) seal leaks. Is it worth a shot to try this product. Does it make a diffence if try this product with dino oil; or Mobil 1? Can this product cause damage?

Thank you.

normally these sort of products contain chlorine, which is not a good thing for your engine. i don't know about this specific product, but if it sounds too good to be true...

I have never seen ""miracles in a bottle"" deliver 10% of what they claim to perform.
Without knowing what's in those magic potions, it is hard to tell if they could damage an engine.
If they succeeded at blocking external leaks, they could also succeed at blocking some tiny internal engine oil passages with very bad results.

Many of these products will soften & swell up the seals ( maybe ).
For $ 10.00, you don't have much to loose.
I'd say try it. ;)

I am switching from dino oil to Mobil 1. Maybe I will get good results with the seals by doing this? I have read where some people say Mobil 1 slowed down and/or stopped their leaks.

I've read posts from people stating the opposite -- seal leaks are enchanced by switching from dino to synthetic.

I too don't subscribe to mechanic-in-a-bottle solutions. I believe they can only delay the inevitable and their primary use would be to mask a problem before sale.
