I was wondering if anyone has a reccomendation for a TRULY effective cooling system flush? (brand / method?) I need a product that can help disolve any corrosion that may be inhibiting heat transfer.

Second question: is a standard old coolant tester (specific gravity type) accurate for the newer "extended life" antifreezes?

Much Thanks!

I have found that frequent changes are better than a good flush. I have not found a chemical that really does it except the Mercedes Acid for oil removal. You have to use gloves while handling it.

You will have to replace the radiator if needed to get the scale out. You can't rod these like the old ones.

Some of those flushes can damage your system, i.e., those oil flushes.
