Chinese Rotors

Has anyone tried the LOMANDI rotors made in China? Are they any good for an 89 420 SEL?

Well, I don't know who made them but the Chinese rotors I installed last summer on a friend's '93 Dodge Caravan, are still OK and I just installed a pair on my '84 Honda, so we'll see. I got them from Pep Boys.
On the other hand, I'd think twice before installing them on a Mercedes. I've had good luck putting German ATE rotors on Mercedes but a friend even had problems with those on his '90 BMW 735i and had to get new rotors from the BMW dealer. The Italian Brembo rotors I installed last year, on a BMW 325i and Volvo 850, are doing OK. In any case, avoid the kids at the tire stores with the impact guns unless they use a torque-stick! I suggest hand tightening the lug-bolts, preferably with a torque wrench, to reduce the possibilty of warping new rotors.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Last summer I put a set of China roters on the back of the wife's 1986 300e and they seem to be good so far. They are round and run true and they were cheep $19.00 each.

With the investment money pouring into China I am amazed at the improvement in the quality of many of their products. I guess thats there not much difference in a workman running a CNC machine in China than in Germany other than the German product might well use better materials and more careful quality control personel...........

quality of products from China may be improving, but the quality of life for the average person in China is not. i saw this first hand.
