I have been told by several mechanics both local and from DC, that I have a "special" situation with my car. For about the past four months, when the temperature would fall between 15 and 30 degrees, the parking lights on my car would come on (parking lights= rear lights and front parking lights). At first I was not very concerned, mainly because it was happening at most, once a week, and when it did occur, my battery was not being drained to an inactive state. However, over the past two weeks, this problem has gotten progressively worse as the weather has gotten progressively warmer, so that my orginial hope that the problem would just go away for the time being when the weather warmed up is now shot in the head. My lights have come on for five straight days and fully drained my battery twice. I thought the temperature may have been causing some moisture inside an engine/wiring component to freeze, expand, and as a result trigger the lights to come on, but these past five days have been accompanied with temperatures ranging between 40 and 55 degrees. My car may sit at most 48 hours, but this occurs rarely, and the lights have been coming on now, irregardless of the last time I operated the vehcile. If anyone has any ideas, advice, etc that may assist in my "special" problem, that would greatly be appreciated.
