A quick plan came up between me and a friend of mine--we're gonna be heading down to Miami next week. We havent decided whether I should take the 300E, or he should take his 99 E320. Its going to be a long trip (approx 1,300 miles) one way, so we might take the E320. Although I would love to drop by in Georgia and let Benzmac service my baby.
My questions now... Any good recommendations on eats, hotels, and maybe MB-techs just in case we need one along I-95? We plan on blowing the whole day and try on driving straight through, although I know we'll be dead tired and have to crash somewhere along I-95 (approx 22 hour drive from NYC). ------------------ Agron 1989 300E Monotoned Smoke Silver 97 Style Replica E420 Rims 205/55/16 Euro Headlights Clear Corners 20% Tint 12" Sub-enclosure |
Approx. 1/2 way from NYC to Tampa FL (not Miami) is the center of NOrth Carolina, aka Raleigh, however I-95 does not go through Raleigh, but a town called Smithfied, around 30 miles straight due east.
Smithfield, I forget the exit # off I-95, 14 comes to mind, had tons of shops outlets, i.e. Tommy Hilfiger and also has a few decent restaurants (nothing great) for tourists and shoppers driving through. Raleigh is where the closest MB dealership lies, from my recollection. It is called Leith, mediocre service at best. ------------------ '89 420 SEL '90 300 SEL '68 Olds 88 Convertible '84 300 SD (sold it) |

Yikes! Hate to see the words "dead" and "crash" used in this forum when referring to a raod trip. How about "fatigued" and "be rejuvinated"? Anyways, have a great (and safe) trip -- sounds like it'll be fun :) Brian [/B]

|
