M112 engine spark plug question
 

There are several options for plugs on Fastlane for the M112 engine spark plugs. Which one do I get?

I am told getting the correct plug is critical:
If the plug is out of the operating cylinder heat range it can cause a cylinder to run either too cold or too hot.....so although different plugs can fit, it may not be the right one...

What I can decipher from the part #'s you posted is, the first Bosch is a regular plug, while the NGK's and the last Bosch are platinum plugs.
I would go with the first one.
As far as being the correct heatrange, the numbers listed ( which contain the heatrange ), are the correct heatrange. ;)

Beru, Bosch, & Champion are the ONLY OE plugs. OF course other plugs will FIT. & someone will say they are Better.
Bosch F8DPP332 is the best plug for the $$$
The Beru plug is equal in quality but hard to find!

roadsession--- as M.B. Doc stated the first Bosch for $6.17 will work fine. It is a platinum 1 electrode plug. Don't forget to get 12. Good luck and get a good tool to remove the wire boots.

Which tool is being recommended for removing the spark plug boots - is this the Hazet #2771 17mm offset wrench that has been mentioned on the ML discussion?

Ordered 12 Bosch Platinum's from Fastlane (thanks philip@peachparts.com) They were
F1000-115026 Spark Plug Bosch each $6.17 (by the way HALF the dealer price! - and thanks GRAPES11 for helping me choose the right ones!)

The plugs arrived via Airborne Express right on time - perfectly packaged.

I took them to the dealer and they installed in about 2.5 hours. I saw that they did remove the wheel and fender liner. Tech said that's the only way he can guarantee the boot won't be ripped - he said shortcut is to reach around and use a boot puller but he said that about 1/3rd of the time he tries it, the boot comes apart and will end up with plug wire replacement.

Having said that, he said other techs certainly use the hazet 17mm offset wrench that slips under the boot and can remove it WITHOUT having to remove wheel and fender liner - just becareful!

The car's acceleration is noticeably improved. I used to have to floor the accelerator to engage downshift - now just a dip engages downshift and the rush of acceleration is noticeably faster and smoother.

The plugs looked pretty bad - I've had the original plugs in for now just over 5 years at 70K miles - so even though theoretically it's supposed to go for 100K miles, I highly recommend getting them swapped if your plugs are over 4 years old.

70K from 100K plugs sounds about right. You have to be very lucky to get the full 100K out of plugs like these.

i just replaced my plugs at 82k on my 98 e320 with the platinum +4..... wow what a difference. smoother accel for sure.
and their real pretty to look at!:D
