I want everyone on this forum to know what happened to me yesterday so it won't happen to you!!

I was sitting still at a red light, looking straight ahead when, BAM, a full sized truck hit me from behind, no brakes or skid marks. (Impact at about 50).

I was in shock. The driver got out of the truck and asked if I was OK. I looked at him and said, "give me a minute to clear my head". He said "let's move to the right so traffic can clear" and I agreed.

As I moved my truck, he ran away...Never to be seen again.

I am asking myself how this happened. Here it is, In a state of shock, you are unaware of your surroundings. Your body is trying to acess the damage on itsself, not look at the offender.

Now my insurance has to pay.

If you are ever in a wreck and can get a tag number, do it first, then call the cops.

I am OK except for my back killing me.
The Syclone has $5,100 worth of damage.

What a Shock! If you haven't gone to a Dr, do so ASAP!

My neighbor had a very similar accident and had his car totaled along with the person that hit him giving him completely fraudulent information. I hope your health is okay! I hope that you also put out a bulletin for anyone that might have seen the accident.

Everything else is secondary to having yourself checked out by a Dr. after an accident. Non treated back and neck injuries can cost you months of disability…

Glad you're still with us!

Regards

…tracy

Please go to a good doctor ASAP - there are an incredible number of things that can be wrong and not show up until later. The sheet metal, much as we love it, is secondary to, and much more easily repaired than the body, particularly the spine. When looking for a good physician, ask yourself if the doctor you are talking to has the patience, common sense and mental attitude to troubleshoot one of your cars. If they aren't as compulsive and inquisitive as a top notch MB tech, find someone who is. (In the 18 years I spent working with physicians, I can't recall one excellent MD of any specialty who wasn't a car fanatic, but I can recall lots of so-so docs who treated their cars, the staff, and their patients with equal indifference.)

Benzmac, Hope your feeling better soon. Take the advise of others and visit a M.D. soon. BTW, what kind of truck hit you, I'll keep a lookout on the North Atlanta/ Woodstock side, you never know. Anyway, hope your back to your old routine soon.

Benzmac,

I think we all owe you a big salute, not only for all the expert technical advice you so freely offer us, but also for your sharing this unhappy experience with us now in the hope that we learn something from it. Hope you have a full, speedy recovery.

Regards,
Jason

Hope you get better soon, Donnie!

And don't worry; I'm a big believer in Kharma, and that dude just filled the back of his Durango with the bad kind.

Take care, man.

Benzmac,

I'm very glad to hear that you weren't hurt any worse. I'll feel very much relieved when you post on this thread again after seeing a doctor.

Something like this is bad enough without this irressponsible ^*%$$^*&^ driving off. I'm surprised that in this day of mobile phones, that noone saw him drive off and got his license number, or followed him while they called the police.

Please take care of yourself,
Larry

Donnie,

Just wish I had already finished my JD so I could aggressively sue that bastard and his insurance company...WHEN they catch him.

Recover Quickly,
