You gotta be f'ing kidding me We are no strangers to stuff like this in NY. If people are capable of killing people and driving off well cars are nothing!
People above have said this but it bares repeating get yourself checked by a doctor pronto! People have had severe reactions days after an event like this...please get well soon!!!!!

Donnie - man, that's tough! I'm glad you weren't seriously injured. Other folks have summed up the most important thing, get yourself checked out. As much as you bend over and crawl in and out cars, it would be easy for you to aggravate an injury that you don't feel right now. Take care of yourself.

I know you're bummed about your truck, I hope you don't run into any catastrophes with it's repair.

Best wishes and keep us posted with all the aspects of this situation.

I witnessed a wreck once as I was walking down the street. The one at fault slowed down as if to pull over and then fled. When this happened the last thing I was thinking about was getting license numbers. I just never expected him to run off and without fighter pilot vision my window of opportunity to get him number was very brief. So he got away. Everybody just be aware this kind of thing does happen. Good luck and sorry to hear about it.

Donnie,

Glad you're not seriously damaged, but see a good MD about your back. Most problems and pain will not surface for days or even weeks, by then the damage is done... see a doctor now and insist on an MRI, X-rays won't show most back injuries.

Hope they catch the guy that did this and make him pay! It's bad enough he hit you, but very stupid to leave the scene.

Get better real soon and keep us up to date on the situation.

Good Luck and God Bless,

Donnie, get well quick. As long as you're OK, that's what counts. Cars can be replaced people can't. In my prayers.

Donnie,
Sorry to hear that happened to you. Take everybody's advise and go see a doctor. Take care of yourself. And by the way, did you notice the severity this %^*% guy's truck front end damaged? Maybe the members in your area can keep a look out for a truck with front damage and nail the bastard.

Well, seeing that hit and run is a felony, I suggest you give as much detail to the insurance and cops as you can. Then rest assured that if this guy is caught he'll spend some considerable time in the clink.

Go see a good spine doc and physical therapist - in fact, INSIST on physical therapy at all costs. Yes, it can be time consuming, but you'll also give your entire body a tune-up (not just the back).

Seeing the previous reply reminds me, there's one of our mercedesshop fellow posters who goes by "spinedoc". Is there a doctor in the house?

I think this thread of replies shows how mercedesshop really is an online community.

Take care of yourself Donnie,
Larry

Glad you are ok and sorry to hear about the accident. I got rear ended once and when I asked the guy that hit me if he had insurance he said he would not have stopped if he hadn't had any. That was in a large city too.

I do not see how people live in the Atlanta area. Last time I was up there and got off of the interstate EVERY road I got on was bumper to bumper - unbelievable!! In addition, I have read lately about people getting shot at from other cars on I75 through the Atl area. I do not travel enough to know if it is like that in other large cities but for now I will stay in my two redlight town - it is easier on my E320 anyway.
take care

Wow, it seems like the people that least deserve it, always seem to get it before those that do. I wish you a speedy recovery. If you like, I can make a voodoo truck doll and toss it around the backyard like a hacky sack for a while.
Sometimes I see ads in newspapers looking for witnesses, maybe that will yield some results; along with checking body shops for a truck with front end damage.
Get well, and heal quickly!

Benzmac,

Thank the Lord that you are OK.. Ironically the same thing happened to me when I was in high school. A guy rear ended me @ 55 mph while I was in my Dad's , which he still has, 68 Oldmobile convertible and I did not have my seatbelt on. Luckily GM made cars like that then because no one in my car was scratched. The guy tried to get away, but the Cops get em.

I did not want to go to the Doctor, but people kept on telling me that there are people in accidents who are OK at the scene , but drop dead a week later due to a fractured skull, organ, whatever, so please GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND POST BACK HERE WHAT THEY HAVE COME UP WITH.

GOD BLESS .

I did go to the Doctor because of Bill Wood (webmaster), and his wife. Both of them urged me to go, so I did. They performed a C-Spine x-ray and said all is OK. I am very sore, but mobile. I'll be on the look-out for this cat, but I think finding him is hopeless.

I am blown away by the amount you people care! Thanks, and God Bless.
