Sampler blower motor ?
W202 / '94 C220
I have this high pitch noise coming out of the dashboard around the passenger side when the climate control is on. I did some research and I suspect the blower motor. I'm planning on taking it out and giving it some lube. I found out the noise can also come from the aspirator/sampler blower motor on certain cars. My question is: Does the W202 have a sampler blower and if yes, where is it located ? Tx |
The in-car temp sensor has an intergrated aspriator motor, and is mounted in the dome lamp assembly.
Does the noise go away if you select EC on the control pushbutton unit? |
I haven't try, I'll try it.
What where you thinking about ? |
M.B. Doc:
I've tried with EC it still makes the noise. The noise only comes up at low fan speed (position 1 or 2) no matter if I put it in Auto, EC or even REST. Tx |
That would the blower motor! Very easy to install. Less than 1 hour.
Have you replaced the dust micro-filter lately?! |
You having the same problem that I have on my 2000 E320. See "noise". I have not found solution as of yet. Even the new blower motor is making the same noise at the low speeds (bearing noise).:(

It blows fine and regulates OK so far, it's just the noise. A new motor is a bit pricey (US$ 200+). |
The blower motor for E320 cost $300-400 range. I cannot believe that Mercedes uses such lousy electrical motors. I had Lexus GS300 before E320, no noises.

Yeh, well...
I'm hoping some lube will do the trick, I hope it's not on its way out. |
Speking of dust filters
Does a W201 have one?
|
I think the 201 does not have it.

cil254,
Change your regulator swith, it will fix your problem. It did for me! Good luck! :) |
I always get a chuckle out of comparisons to Lexus cars.
It doesn't have anything to do with blowers but we had a SC400 in this week with the tires all chopped up. The rear lower control arm busshings were shot. Only for some fool reason on Lexus one must replace the whole control arms. Well that POS will keep wobbling down the hiway as the owner can't afford two $570 control arms plus labor. And it ain't something one can get at AZ. We all got a good chuckle out of it. Had it been an MB we could have rebuilt the front and rear suspensions for that ammount. All for two bushings. There ain't nothing cheap on a Lexus and they break plenty. How bout inst clusters because their neon needles are burned out or A/C controllers because of liquid crystal messes, PS pumps and steering racks dropping like flies and service designed to screw the second owner. (second owner gets it just before the 60k service, always). Think MB service is expensive.... you have never bought a 60k on a lexus v8 - timing belt and 32 valves to check and cams to remove if they need adjusting. Oh and what about the starter that is under the intake manifold, in the "v". If you can make it through all the plastic crap without a full garbage can it only takes the best tech I got a half day. Shop down the street had one apart a week trying to get the broke plastic pieces and putting it back together. |

Tx PS: let's not start another of these MB vs Lexus threads. Let's stay on topic shall we ? :) |
Don't fret cil, I have made sure I won't spoil anymore of your posts.
