W140 - Soft Closing Doors

Hi All

I am having a problem with the soft close on my trunk lid. It only works intermittently, leaving the trunk slightly ajar.

Where is the sensor for the unit so I can check and or replace, and how do I check or replace??

I also have a similar problem on drivers door. I already know about restting Fuse 9 in the trunk, but am looking for a more permanent fix.

Thanks in advance.

Close assist

If you have problems with both the door and trunk, and removing the fuse is only a temporary fix, it is the pump. You can search on "closing assist" and get other information. The bottom line is new vacuum pump, a very common issue!
