looking for quality W140 repair shop in Wash.D.C / Southern Maryland / Northern VA

We have had horrible experiences with repair shops on our prized v12 600sel. Any references would be appreciated.
thanks.

Post Curry's Auto (Sterling)

Hello,

A local indy shop that has earned my business is Curry's Auto in Sterling (http://www.currysauto.com), directly off the Greenway. Their lead Mercedes tech (Ryan) has been a great resource while I transitioned into the pre-OBD2 DIY world. Experience has been just as satisfactory with the wife's Audi.

According to the corporate website, a new shop has recently opened in Falls Church (105 Falls Ave.). They charge a fair price compared to non-specialty shops and offer a 5% parts discount to local Mercedes club members. Give their shop a call with your to-do list, and let me know how the service turns out if you choose to do business.

Regards,
DM

I assume that you have tried American Service Center as a dealer resource. Who was your service adviser there?

The indies that I work with are Don Pool in Falls Church and Silver Star in Vienna. They have excellent tech's but may not be up to the challenges of the 600.

Good luck.

If you get the right adviser and technician ...

... American Service Center does very good work especially on the more complicated cars. They certainly have all the tools and test equipment. If you want, I will ask the parts guys, whom I deal with a lot, for their recommendations.

Mitch Carr's in Kensington

Mitch Carr's is a gret independent, Mercedes-only repair shop in Kensington, MD (about 3 miles from 495, Connecticut ave exit).

They are honest, reasonably priced, and perform quality work. I wouldn't trust my Benz anywhere else. I have a 1995 E420, but I see many W140s in for servioce when I take my car there.

Call and ask for Hal. He's as honest and as thorough as they come.
