190E oil pressure

Hello all.
As I am new to Mercedes and have recently purchased a 190E 2.3 8valve (1992), I would like to know what oil pressure levels are normal:

When idling, it occasionally falls about 1.5 bar, when stepping into the throotle a little bit, it climbs easily to the top (3 bars). Is it normal that sometimes it go to 1.5 bar? The level is ok, perhaps even a little bit high.

Best regards from Spain.

this is normal. I was concerned about this when I first bought my MB, but you can do a search an see this is usual behaviour. It should peg on 3 under acceleration and usually be between 1-2 at idle when warm.
As long as you're not reading 0 you're ok.

Your car is healthy, well the oil presure is fine anyway!

This seems to be one of two things all new 190 owners fret about, the other being engine temperature...

Did you get an owner's manual with the car? It has a discussion on acceptable oil pressure. If you don't have an owners manual, I belief they can still be purchased from MBNA, and it has lots of good information!
