cd changer

I have a 2001 s430 that i'm trying to add a cd changer. From what Ive read it should be simple. I having located what seems to be the corret 3 prong wire but it is either tied down or to short to plug into the changer. I have not located what i think is the fiber optic. What does it look like? Might I have to remove the amp to see what is behind there?

Install Help please! :)

A fiber optic cable may be a little thick and usually has a clear prong on the end, almost certainly capped to protect the glass inside it. The other parts of the wire would be the power to the changer and the control cable from the fact stereo to the changer unit. I have no idea where the cable is located in the S-Class, but I will say that fiber optics will give you unparalelled sound quality. They transmit totally digitally, and receieve no interference from anything whatsoever. I use them on the stereo at home.

cd changer

i added a factory cd to my 2000 e320. the wires were in left corner of trunk behind the trunk interior. i mounted the cd under package tray toward the left side of trunk so that wires would reach. i had dealer connect wires and program computer to accept new hardware(cd). he did it at no charge

The fiber optic lines and power supply wire were bundled together on top of the driver's side rear fender well on 2000 E320. Be careful not to bend the fiber optic lines. The lines were rather short, but can lengthen them if you need.
