M104 belt-pulley bearing replaceable ?
Does anyone know if the M104 serpentine belt-pulley bearing (104.200.20.28) is replaceable ?
I just called the dealer and what was once a $149 part is now over $227 ! Also, if the bearing is replaceable, do you have to R&R the whole bearing bracket or can you just replace the bearing while the bracket is still mounted on the engine ? Thanks in advance, :-) neil 1988 E36T AMG (AMG M104) 1993 500E |

Other than draining some of the engine coolant and removing the thermostat-bypass pipe (replace O-ring) and alternator bracket assembly, any seals, sealant or other gotcha's on this R&R ?

You don't have to drain the coolant you need a special tool to remove cooling fan clutch & pulley, belt, belt tensioner idler pully one uper alt bolt & four bracket bolt pay attention at fan bracket bolt (right uper) is different then other bolt.
