My 300E is allergic to CO-testing??
To make a very very long -and ongoing story a bit shorter..
The classic trouble with stumbling idle - excessive fuel consumption - surging on acceleration.. Tested/cleaned/replaced OVP, IAC, Lambda sensor, cat. conv and so on.. Info: In Denmark you have to get any car over 5 years of age, checked thoroughly every other year. Also CO-testet! If your car doesnt pass the test you get a month to fix it. If it still doesn't pass, they can take you licence plates and the car is no longer legal to drive.. :( -And of course you have to pay $100 for each try. The thing is.. The Benz is now driving flawlessly. All the above mentioned problems are gone -except whenever i get within a few miles from the 'car inspection shop'.. I have now tried 3 times. And every time i get near the shop (two different shops actually), the Benz starts to act up.. -Surging, stumbling, using excessive amounts of fuel. And of course the CO-test fails with flyin' colors. :( The rest of the week i can take it to work and it will drive perfect.. I simply don't get it. It makes my think of the movie 'Christine'. Freestyler |
What is the co test value in Denmark?
|
Actually i'm not sure what the limit is. I do believe the guy testing it said 3%..?
But the 'CO-meter' he used couldn't go higher that 10,00 %. -And it topped out when measuring my car! Freestyler |
