idle control air valve? do I have it in a W210

Hi, I have a 96 E230 4 cylinder 2.3 I think it is similar to an older C-class with a 4 cylinder engine.

Does my car have this valve? I read that cleaning this part would improve idling and possible cause stalling of enginethey when it is very dirty.

Where is this part located?

If ever there is none, what can I do or clean to make the car run better. My car stalls once in a while and has an erratic idle.

Thanks

MB stopped using idle valves in 1993, engines with electronic fuel injection use a "throttle actuator" instead.
Electronic throttle body.

Many times cleaning the housing & butterfly will help with stalling.

Hi,
Sorry for my ignorance but where is this part located? I'll try to clean it myself

Thanks.

On my 1993 320E M104 engine, it is underneath the intake manifold.

The throttle body is positioned by an electric motor. When you push on the gas, you are pulling a cable that is connected to a throttle position sensor. The info is then relayed to the ECU which then relays the desired throttle input to the throttle actuator.

Find the throttle body and you will see the electronic motor co-located. This is the throttle actuator. Follow MB DOC's suggestions above.
