380SE Roaming Drivers Seat

Driving along the other day the drivers seat in my 1985 380SE began to move by itself, at first I had been able to move it back with the seat controls, but a little while later the seat moved all the way up to where the seat belt started cutting off the circulation in my legs and jamming my knees into the dashboard and now the seat controls do not work at all making it nearly impossible to drive the car any help would be greatly welcome.

Probably needs a new seat switch in the door.

Well ..... you could go under the seat, find the connectors, separate them, supply a 12v and Grnd source and move the seat back that way. Then you would be able to still drive it while you were trying to determine what in the #$%*@ is going on.

Just be sure to leave the connectors apart so you don't get your face pressed against the windshield.

Are you sure your not driving a 1958 chrysler. LOL I would look at where the wires bend at the door hinge, I would bet they are split and touching each other..

Good Luck...
