Monowiper click hard

I've been meaning to ask since I got my car.
All of you with the monowiper, how hard is it to lift and lock your wiper arm to a standing position?
I have to use a lot of force to get it stand up. I'm afraid I will break it one of these days.

My definition of hard: My previous car is honda Accord. On that one it's effortless to get it stand up. This C280, I probably have to use 10 times effort.

BTW same thing on getting it down. Although the sound is not as terrible as getting it up.

Thanks,
-S-

I noticed that. I've done it a few times now and everytime I feel like it's gonna break. I guess it's normal though.

Yes, I have the same thing on my C280. It does not swing up and down as freely as other dual wiper setups do. So far, mine hasn't broken yet and I hope it doesn't break in the future. Although, it might be imagination but it does seem that it has gotten harder to snap up and down as it has gotten older.

My 190e sounds so stiff I hav'nt actually lifted it up fully or even really tried. But I had the windscreen replacement lately so it must have moved upwards...

So It isn't only my car that's doing it.
I'm partially relieve.

I tried to lubricate mine with WD 40, and it's still in the same condition.

Anyone has any other suggestion?

Well,

it's really stiff to lift up and it's harder yet to put down ...
Oh yes, I do it once per week to cleen the rubber. The wiper arm is 14 years old as the rest of the car...
That's what we call the MB feeling...
