I made a parts inquiry here for my '84 300D. The request was sent yesterday morning (8/29). Are you guys just incredibly busy or something? I'd like to get my parts from mercedesshop, but not if I'm going to be ignored...

Zoon,

Please remember this entire site is above and beyond what these guys do in real life, and I would have to say they are 'incredibly busy'. I have found the service at the PartsShop excellent when I have ordered. Last time it took a day or two to get the part number, a part that I thought was obscure, and only two days to receive the part, once ordered.

You might try posting the question in parts Shop feedback, or emailing them directly through the address under 'Links' at left. I have usually had pretty fast service and good follow up, so I would guess there is a glitch somewhere, maybe in getting a price from their suppliers? Good luck!

I would suggest posting on the partshop site too. I too have had excellent service from them in the past. There must be an overload or a problem. It takes a huge amount of work to run a site like this and partshop not to mention running a shop and trying to build a new one. But I can relate to Zoon 's problem I have been waiting for a reply on part's info for a while, but I'm a patient person. Just my .02 worth

Yes, if you need parts today, parts shop is not the place to buy them. But, with a little planning you can order the parts from them, get a fair price, and order from someone you know you can trust.

I'll admit that I have not bought all my parts from parts shop. I am now trying to plan ahead and order everything that I don't need immediately from parts shop.

These guys have put together what I consider to be the best web site in the world, at least for my needs and interests. My goal is to pitch in what little I can to reward them for their outstanding efforts.

We have a good news - bad news story here...

The bad news is that we have been very SLOW in responding to inquiries lately. On top of that, some of the inquiries within the past week or two may have been lost. Lee was answering our inquiries but he is now in college full time and can't answer inquiries.

The good news is that we have shifted the inquiry responsibility to a new person who will answer in a more timely fashion. The real good news is that we also have LOWER PRICES THAN BEFORE! We have not updated all of our prices in our database but, all new quotes will be done at the lower price structure. Not all items will be lower...CD's and dealer special items have not changed but, most everything else is considerably less.

Hopefully, this will make up for the delays.
