Hello all
When it's hot, (Hot for me is in the 90's) and I'm running my AC and not moving fast, my temp soars, It doesn't get to the red, as by then I'm moving again, and not so worried. My mech friend said the viscous cooling fan is fatigued and that's why it doesn't pull enough air thru the radiator. Is this the right conclustion from those vague symptoms. Best Regards, Russ [This message has been edited by russla (edited 09-04-2000).] |

I do not know if it is indeed the problem, but, it is a distinct possibility. Search the archives..once you've poured through them, you'll be able to go outside and see for yourself in a matter of minutes. Even at this very moment, and even though its dark where you are right now. One other thing to check, (you can do this yourself too...even at night) is start the car, turn on the A/C, wait a good bit, and see if the auxiliary fan comes on. (you have to wait a few, it doesn't come on right away, only when the daft thing thinks it must)
Hope this helps out ------------------ 03/83 300D 184k 07/73 280 160k -88 other 159k |
