260E 1988 Euro Throttle adjustement HELP
My car ( 380 000 km) deserved a cleaning of the throttle body and found three holes.
I am wondering if the flap is correctly adjusted in zero position. Should the hole 1 be above the flap or somehow in between as on the picture? Can anybody tell what is the procedure for adjusting the flap at idle? here is the picture. Last edited by cc260E; 04-29-2004 at 03:11 PM. |

Any idea??
I think it can be a source for a bad idle |

I think those are called transition ports so that the air above and below the butterfly valve equalize smoothly and thus when the engine moves off of idle it doesn;t suddenly surge.
Carbs used to have these. Roguh idle can often be traced to bad wires and air leaks. Have you tried cleaning your idle control valve? Haasman

Yes I tried everything mentioned in all the threads on the matter in this forum. thery are in the topic " loss of power while running"
One day I moved the screw that defines the end position of the flap. That is why I need to know the adjustement procedure to bring the flap to the nominal position. My guess is that the hole @1 has to be above the flap and as I do not have the CD so I expect to get advice from anybody who may know the picture points the screw I moved and that adjusts the flap. Forgot to mention
the hole @1 goes to the thermovalve via vacuum line the 2 holes @2 are in fact connected on the throttle body and are the same, they go to the regeneration valve via vacuum line on the front left fender. Last edited by cc260E; 05-03-2004 at 03:18 AM. |
