One of the power windows(rear passenger side) on my 82 380SEC won't go up or down. What should i look for first? Could it be a blown fuse?
|
Can you hear the motor when you press the window switch or do you get nothing?
If you hear the motor, do a search for "sliding jaw". My 2 cents. ------------------ '89 420 SEL '90 300 SEL '68 Olds 88 Convertible '84 300 SD (sold it) |
The windows are fused in pairs; left front - right rear and right front - left rear. If you have one window out it isn't a fuse.
The most likely problem is the switch but if you can hear activity when pushing the button then you have a regulator problem. I'm not sure the lever foot problem that the sedans have is applicable to SECs but if its making sounds it will have to come apart to see. |
If you hear the regulator moving up and down, it is possible that the plastic sliding jaw broke.
