Refering to a previous post regarding a '90 300SE I found. I drove the car today and it's a peach! It's nearly flawless insde and out. It has a new MB factory rebuilt tranny put in last month. The timing chain has been replaced, it has new Michelins and the guy has all the records. I can buy it for $5000.00.

My question is, am I smart to get rid of my 300SD? It's not as nice and the tranny slips between 2nd&3rd. They both have about the same miles (230K).

It may seem obvious to trade, but I really like my old diesel. It's amazing how attatched you can get to an old MB.

I'd love to hear your opinion, soon, because I don't think this car will be available too long.

Thanks,

Mr. BILL

If you have the room for another, and can afford to keep the old one, why not hold onto to it AND get the '90. Spare cars come in handy now and then.

I would go for the SE, but that is probably because I have one and I love it.

I'm sure it will be a lot more fun than the SD performance wise aswell.

That was my biast view!!

I would not get rid of the SD just yet. You may find you don't like the gas engine.

I have been through that and I have determined that for myself the diesel is the only way to go. The gas engined MB are boring. I am not saying the performance is boring just the way it works.

You on the other hand may love the gas engines as most people do.
