Another purchase candidate - 93 300E
Supposedly has service records... It is local, so will be seeing it tommorrow... $6.9K |
I like it, and the price is right, too.
Just know that even though the badge says "300E", it is really an E320, like 1994 and 1995 E320's. Mercedes didn't decide to change the badge until 1994 for some strange reason. They have the same engine (3.2 liter M104) and the same chassis # (124.032). 1993 300E's have the same interior's as 1994 - 1995's, with the armrest that has the flip up lid for storage, and a console box beneath the armrest with a sliding wooden door. I suppose Mercedes added the console box to replace the glove box, which is not there due to the passenger side airbag. The differences between 1993 and 1994-1995's are all exterior. |
Exterior? I saw the wheels were obviously different. What else? Some 94-95 I have seen, I think, with like two tone on the bottom?
If I can get away with spending 6.9 on this one vs 8.9 on the 95...... hey its 2 grand... so we'll see. I saw a red 94 328 convertible today, but wasn't up to standard... I plan on on seeing the $6.9K tommorrow after work...:D :D :D |
1994-1995's have:
Updated hood / grill with Euro-style headlights (but not real Euros). The front turn signal indicators are clear / yellow (instead of amber). The bumper impact strips are painted (instead of black). The rear tail lights are clear / red (instead of clear, read, and amber). The trunk has a chrome strip underneath the star logo (instead of a black strip the runs horizontally between the tail lights). |
just compared the two, on the items you mentioned... interesting.
The 93 in the link also has a different radio. Wheels are what "bother" me the most. I like the 94-95... |
